We can forgive soggy chips and soft battered fish when picking up online orders, which may have sat a while waiting to be picked up during lockdown, but more recently we have been able to order fresh cooked from the counter for takeaway as soon as it’s bagged up which we felt would eliminate any prior lockdown related issues. and quality has been variable but always edible and delivered with a smile. We have been fairly regular customers since moving into the area in March 2018, but since COVID-19 lockdown the consistency.

Not that it will affect me, as I won't be bothering going back again. If Skippers are to continue with this method of service, may I respectfully suggest that they allocate a number or a name to each order so that there is no chance of a similar cock-up in future? I mean, heaven forbid that they mix up one of the precious on-line orders. How do I know they mixed us up? Coz when I got home I discovered we had got bloody peas instead of the gravy I'd ordered!! All of a sudden he opens the door, and rudely asks me “what I wanted” I queried politely if opening hours had changed or I’d missed something as it was still 8.09, he shouted at me that “his wife was ill sorry these things like this happen so now were closed ok?”. Thinking I’d missed a sign, I looked over all the papers on the doors incase times had changed and I needed to note new hours.

It was 8pm on a Saturday - i had popped down and seen it was closed early. However on two separate occasions I’ve been spoken to, and made to feel so awful that I’ve cried upon returning home. We’ve enjoyed takeaway from them a few times. I have just moved to the area down the road from skippers.
